When you think of being selfish, what comes to mind? Is it vacations, self-care, sleeping, shopping, or perhaps all of the above? Whatever comes to mind is your definition of selfish, and guess what? It’s okay to be selfish.
Selfish, according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, means "concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself: seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others."
Hi friends! I’m Kyy, a proudly selfish mfin muva (mother)!
Welcome to this new safe space for moms who need to understand that it is OKAY to be selfish! Being a mom is incredibly challenging, and I know this firsthand because I’m a new mom myself. My child is 8 months old, and in these eight months, I’ve been called a lot of things, but the word “selfish” really stuck with me. At first, I was upset by it, but then I embraced it.
I’m a single mother juggling two jobs, battling postpartum depression, and raising a child. I never imagined I’d be here, but here I am, and honestly, I’m doing the damn thing! So are you!
I’m starting this blog because I don’t want it to be like most other mommy blogs that show only the perfect sides of motherhood. That’s all BS. Motherhood is one of the toughest gigs out there, and adulthood is definitely the ghetto hood of them all.
Let's embrace this journey together and continue to be the best, most selfish muva there is out there!
